FAQs

Getting Started
How much does it cost?

£1,600 - nearly half what you'd pay elsewhere (typically £2,500+). This covers your complete care from initial consultation through results discussion:

  • Safety screening and GP referral (no need to arrange your own)
  • Two GP consultations
  • 60-90 minute scan
  • Consultant radiologist report (delivered in 3 working days, not 4-5 weeks)
  • Secure access to your report and images via our app
  • Post-scan consultation to discuss your results
Can I pay in installments?

Yes. We offer a 3-month interest-free payment plan at checkout, so you can spread the cost without additional fees.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. We include a GP consultation in your package and arrange the referral for you.

What to Expect
How long does the scan take?

60-90 minutes in the scanner for the full-body scan.

Can I add extra body parts?

Yes. Arms and legs aren't included in the standard full-body scan, but you can add up to 2 additional areas in the same session. Each extra area typically adds 15-30 minutes and costs around £350 (varies by body part and clinic).

Send us what you'd like to add plus your postcode, and we'll confirm the exact price and nearest clinic.

Do I need to prepare?

No fasting or special preparation required. Just:

  • Wear comfortable clothing without metal zippers or underwire bras
  • Tell us about any implants or medical devices during booking
  • Let us know if you have claustrophobia (we can discuss options)
Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. Someone can accompany you to the clinic and wait nearby, though they won't be in the scanning room during the procedure.

What happens during the scan?

You'll lie on a padded table that slides into the MRI scanner. The machine makes loud knocking sounds (we provide ear protection), but the process is completely painless. You'll need to stay still, but you can communicate with the technician throughout.

What if I'm pregnant or might be pregnant?

MRI doesn't use radiation, so it's generally considered safe during pregnancy. However, we recommend postponing non-urgent scans until after the baby.

What’s Covered
What does "full-body" include?

Your scan covers everything from brain to hips, including:

  • Brain and neurological structures - screening for brain health, masses, and structural changes
  • Complete spine - cervical, thoracic, and lumbar
  • Chest - lungs and heart structure (not coronary arteries)
  • Abdomen - liver, kidneys, pancreas, spleen, gallbladder
  • Pelvis - prostate (males), uterus and ovaries (females), bladder
  • Musculoskeletal system - bones in the scanned area and hip joints
Does it include arms and legs?

No. These can be added as extra areas if needed.

What about the bowel?

The scan includes your abdominal and pelvic area, so we can see the outer structure of your bowel and detect masses or significant abnormalities. However, this is not a substitute for a colonoscopy, which examines the inside lining of the colon. If you're specifically concerned about colon cancer screening, colonoscopy remains the recommended test.

What conditions can you detect?

MRI is the gold standard for soft-tissue imaging. We can identify structural changes and abnormalities across all the organs and systems listed above, often before symptoms develop. This includes tumors, cysts, lesions, organ enlargement, vascular changes, spinal disc problems, and bone abnormalities.

Important context:

  • This scan provides detailed structural imaging but doesn't replace assessment by your GP or specialist
  • Some findings may require follow-up imaging or testing to determine clinical significance
  • Certain conditions are better assessed with other methods (e.g., CT angiography for coronary artery disease, colonoscopy for colon cancer screening)
  • We will provide assistance on the findings we identify
How accurate is this scan?

We use the same clinical-grade MRI equipment as the NHS, and all scans are reviewed by consultant radiologists. MRI has high sensitivity for detecting abnormalities in soft tissues and organs. While no medical test is 100% perfect, this technology is proven and trusted across healthcare systems worldwide.

Will I need contrast dye?

No. Our full-body scan doesn't use contrast.

Results and Follow-Up
When do I get my results?

Within 3 working days - significantly faster than the 4-5 weeks typical at other providers. You'll receive your consultant radiologist report through our secure app, followed by a doctor consultation.

Is a radiologist report included?

Yes. Every scan is reviewed by a consultant radiologist who writes a detailed, structured report.

Do I speak with a doctor afterward?

Yes. Your package includes a post-scan consultation where a doctor walks you through your results, explains any findings, and discusses next steps if needed.

What if something concerning is found?

Our clinical team will explain exactly what any findings mean and recommend appropriate next steps. This might include follow-up imaging (we can help arrange this), specialist referrals, or simply monitoring over time. Our goal is to give you clarity and a clear action plan, not unnecessary anxiety.

Can I get copies of my images?

Yes. You have secure access to both your report and your MRI images through our app.

Yes. You have secure access to both your report and your MRI images through our app.

Absolutely. Our reports are written by consultant radiologists to NHS standards, so they're suitable for your medical records. You're welcome to share your report with your GP, though we can't guarantee they'll use it as the basis for further NHS investigation - that's at your GP's discretion.

What does this show that my annual checkup doesn't?

Standard NHS checkups typically include blood pressure, basic blood tests, and physical examination. These don't visualise your internal organs unless you already have symptoms. An MRI provides detailed structural imaging of your brain, spine, major organs, and tissues - often identifying changes before any symptoms appear.

Safety
Is a full-body MRI safe?

Yes. MRI uses powerful magnets and radio waves - no ionizing radiation. However, we do conduct safety screening to ensure you don't have any implants or metal objects that would make MRI unsuitable for you.
